Most obese people have been on a number of diets. Many of these diets have been unhealthy to begin with and did nothing healthy for these Dieters in the long run. These Dieters end up gaining back all of their weight and then some. What’s going on?
The key to permanent weight loss is to understand that your emotions or your emotional state make your decisions. In other words, decisions are made in the emotional portions of your brain.
Let’s say you’re on a new doing and you are doing well. When all of the sudden BAM something happens and your emotions are triggered. After that, the feast is not over until the fat lady sings. This isn’t a bad diet day – it’s a back slide without handrails.
How did that happen? People do not become obese without a reason. And one of the most absurb reasons is that your whole family is obese. We will discuss that in a later forum.
Many obese people were abused and use obesity to protect themselves from the abuser. Many, many chilren were abused and turned to food. They became obese adults without unpacking their baggage and claiming their lives.
Other obese people use food to hide from their failures. It keeps them on the bench and out of the game. Maybe your relationship failed and you don’t want to risk it again. Food never rejected you. Food was always their for you. But you do not have a healthy relationship with your body.
If you don’t value the body that you’ve been given – whatever shape it is current in…no one else will. People are cruel. They stare, they whisper and worse of all they say stupid things.
This isn’t about will power. This is about changing the way you think. This is about building a firm foundation of healthy thoughts and feeling. This healthy emotional foundation will help you navigate the tough spots and guide you into an amazing life!
